Check out how these two nICE mugs were made:
- The nICE mug on the right was made by filling the mold with water and putting the mold in the freezer for 24 hours.
- The nICE mug on the left was made by putting a simple bubble wrap sleeve around the sides and base of the mold THEN filling the mold with water and putting the mold in the freezer for 24 hours.
Can you see the difference?
The insulated mold forces a “top down freeze.” This patented method for making clear ice forces the air bubbles down into the base of the mold.
Clear ice lasts longer.
Folks are getting their nICE mugs to last over 20 minutes thanks to the patented “top down freeze” method. You can too by using a wool sock or a bubble wrap sleeve (as noted in photo).
ALSO: Try filling your nICE mug mold with a little less water, to make a “short” nICE mug. Great for cocktails.
